In researching Basquiat's body of work, artist Nadia So felt instantly drawn to his painting To be Titled, where she reinterpreted his painting with the concept of home.
Born in Indonesia, her identity has been shaped by the diversity of culture in the country; from its many ethnic groups to the variety of flora and fauna originating from the land. To signify Indonesia's rich history, Nadia chose to depict the various architecture and designs from Dutch colonialism, the Batak tribes of North Sumatra, as well as the Peranakan descendants of Chinese immigrants.
